Fragments and Broken Pieces

Scriptures: Matt:14:13-21; Mark 6:31-44; Luke 9:10-17; John 6:4-15; Acts 27:10-11, 44

Greetings "Fan" - tastic Passengers,

On your voyage through life, you will encounter numerous stormy situations which will cause much hurt and damage, not only to your life but also to the lading and your ship (Acts 27:10-11).  Consequently, you may be asking yourself this renowned question of,
“Why do bad things happen to me?”

Graciously, Jesus wants you to know, that nothing that He allows you to experience in your life is a waste.  As a matter of fact, He is saying to you, as He did to His disciples in John 6:12,

Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost”

Scripture in Acts 27; 28:10 relates how the Apostle Paul, was bound in chain as a prisoner for the hope of Israel, among two hundred and seventy five other prisoners, and crew members, were on a ship which was destined for Italy, when they met with a violent storm.

After an arduous time of sailing, they fell into a place where two seas met.  The crew ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves. Paul and all those souls, were stuck, hungry, tired, helpless and at their wits end from rough sailing.

Consequently, the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, in order that none of them should swim out, and escape.

Nonetheless, in the merciful and wise counsel of God, He utilized His sifted and sanctified vessel bearing His testimony, in the person of the Apostle Paul, to deter the soldiers from their purpose, of bringing death to the souls on board the ship. Therefore, by the mercy and favour of God, the centurion commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land, while the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship, escaped all safe to land.

You see, in God’s favour, there is life (Psa.30:5).  Furthermore, God is longsuffering toward humanity and not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Therefore, He chooses to use your life as a holy vessel, to transport the testimony of His graciousness and reveal His glory, to countless hungry souls, who are seeking Him.

As your tests, are being transformed into your testimony, God will use it, to strengthen, countless souls in His kingdom, for His honour and glory.  He is God and He chooses the things of this world, which are foolish, weak, lowly, despised and even nonexistent, to confound the wise (1 Cor.1:27-28). He is the God of the impossible and with Him, no fragments or broken pieces of your life will ever go to waste (Mk 10:27).  God will use those, very seemingly wasted fragments and broken pieces of your life, to mend the countless fragmented and broken hearts of the hungry souls that seek Him.

With Paul’s confidence and trust in God, amidst the fierce storm, he exhorted the rest of the prisoners and crew members, to be of good cheer, as the Angel of the Lord, spoke to him and confirmed that,

“…There shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.  Furthermore, “God hath given thee all them that sail with thee” (Acts 27:24).

Consequently,

“The Lord has placed His anointing upon you, His sifted and sanctified vessel, to go and preach good tidings unto the meek, to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.  He has sent you to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God.  In addition, He has sent you to comfort all that mourn, to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified (Isa.61:1-3).
